Arubatham Kuruvai /அறுபதாம் குறுவை அரிசி, also known as  Arubatham Puzhungal Arisi, is a type of rice variety native to the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India. It is a short-grain rice that is similar in appearance to the popular Ponni rice variety, but with a darker red in color.

History:

The cultivation of Arubatham Kuruvai Rice has been practiced in Tamil Nadu for many centuries. It is believed that this variety of rice was first grown in the town of Arubathapuram in the Tanjore district of Tamil Nadu, which is why it is called “Arubatham” Kuruvai Rice. This variety of rice is known for its adaptability to different soil and climate conditions, making it a popular choice for farmers in the region.
