one of the traditional rice varieties of south India; it is cultivated in the Cauvery Delta districts of Tamil Nadu. This rice variety gets its name from its sticky nature.  In Tamil, Pisin means “Pasai” which is used for sticking different materials.  It is normally cultivated during Samba (between July 15th to January 14th).
