How to make Poorna Kolukattai:


Red Rice Flour( Mapillai Samba) – 1 1/2 cup

Water – 1 3/4 cup Coconut – 1 cup

Jaggery – 3/4 cup

Almond – chopped

Cardomom powder – 1/2 tsp

Sesame seeds( Black) – 2 tbsp Ghee


Add water, salt, ghee to a pan.

When water boils, add flour and mix it well in low flame.

Cover and leave it aside to cool down.

Meanwhile, prepare the stuffing for the kolukattai.

Add ghee, sesame seeds, coconut.

Fry it for a min.

Add jaggery and almond and mix it well until jaggery melts down completely.

Now knead the flour well for about 2-3 mins.

Use the kolukattai mold to make kolukattai.

Steam it for 10-12 mins.
